19/01/2017 – Athonet’s CEO was interviewed today on Italian national radio (Radio Rai 1) following the earthquake disaster in central Italy. The unprecedented snow storms combined with yesterday’s new earthquake have made it even harder for emergency response teams to intervene. Access has been cut off to some of the hardest hit areas towns. In such conditions reliable mobile communications including voice, video and data/Internet are fundamental to saving lives. Athonet’s experience in deploying its LTE emergency network during the 2012 earthquake in northern Italy can be important for both emergency responders and mobile operators.
